Since April 2013, electronic visas have been issued for tourists who want to visit Azerbaijan, according to the Law of Azerbaijan dated June 14, 1994 on "Passports, departures and arrivals in the country". According to the law, tourists can apply online to licensed travel agencies and their foreign partners for visitor visas.

Geo Travel JSC, operated under a license issued by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, is authorized to provide foreign visitors planning to travel to Azerbaijan with electronic travel visas (e-visas), Letters of Invitation (LOI) and other related travel and supporting services.

The procedure of obtaining an electronic visa is simple and has advantages like lower cost and no need to visit embassies as everything is done online, and you keep your passport all the time, you receive a visa by e-mail as a PDF attachment which you just need to print. With this type of an electronic visa you can enter Azerbaijan at any port of entry (air, land or sea). The term of an e-visa is up to one month.

You need to book a hotel for the entire duration of your electronic visa and provide us with confirmation from the hotel. Please, note that an electronic visa is issued for the days the hotel booking is confirmed.

What are the conditions?

An Azerbaijan e-visa is issued under the following terms:

• You must use an Azerbaijan e-visa within 30 days of its approval (after that the e-visa expires and you will have to re-apply and pay another fee).

• You are free to choose the duration of stay.

• We strongly recommend that you not overstay your authorized duration of stay.

• If the duration of stay is exceeded even for only a few days, the holder of the passport will be fined up to 300 EUR for each day during the first 3 days of the delay, (fines can be paid at the airports or borders). If the overstayed period is more than 3 days, the passport holder will be deported in addition to the fine.

How long does it take?

Approval of an application is not provided immediately. Applications take within 3-15 business days to process. We will inform you by email when a decision has been made. If your visa is approved, we will send it to you. Once your application is approved, you can print a copy of the approval to carry with you when you travel. When you arrive in Azerbaijan, your electronic visa will be accessible to the passport officer.

How to apply

To get an Azerbaijan electronic visa you need to send us the following documents:

Step 1

• A clear copy of Passport (with validity of at least 6 months)

• A copy of Hotel Confirmation Voucher

• A copy of the round-trip ticket (Flight or Train)

• A clear photo (3x4 cm, JPEG format)

Notes on photo

The photo must be identical, taken within the past 6 months.

The photo must be with a full face, front view, with a plain white or off-white background.

Uniforms should not be on photographs with the exception of religious attire which is worn daily.

• Scan it clearly

• Send it back to us.
