Law on foreign trade regulation in the making

A law 'On the State Regulation of Foreign Trade' is being developed in Azerbaijan, chairman of the State Customs Committee (SCC) Aydin Aliyev told Trend news agency on Friday.

"Taking into account the conclusions and proposals of the SCC, draft laws 'On State Regulation of Foreign Trade' and 'On anti-dumping, countervailing and security measures" are being developed," Aliyev said.

In addition he said that last year the committee prepared and submitted a draft of the new law 'On Customs Tariff' to the government. The current version of the law was adopted in 1995.

"The law will be adopted for formation of the customs tariff which is an important means of state regulation of foreign trade, as well as for the creation of a sound legal basis for the future use of anti-dumping, countervailing and special duties," Aliyev said.

He said tariffs applied today meet the requirements for development of the country's economy.
