The free Wi-Fi service of Baku Telephone Communications LLC, an Azerbaijani state communications operator, in the territory of the Icherisheher State Historical and Architectural Reserve has been temporarily suspended, the company told Trend Nov. 2.

The service has been suspended due to on-site repair work.

“The reason is related to power line interruptions,” the company noted. “The service will be resumed as soon as the repair is completed.”

The work to expand the coverage of the wireless internet network has been ongoing since March 2017 as part of the Public Wi-Fi project. The goal of the project is to provide residents and guests of Azerbaijan’s capital with internet access. In total, free Wi-Fi is available in 18 locations around Baku.

Presently, free internet access is available at the following spots: the territory of the Icherisheher State Historical and Architectural Reserve, the National Seaside Park, the Park of the Heydar Aliyev Center, the Narimanov Park, the Winter Park, the Officers Park, the Sahil Park, as well as the Akhundov Park, the Sabir Park, Khagani, Huseyn Javid, Samad Vurgun, Mugan, Dede Gorgud, Izmir and Fashion Avenue parks.
