Quake jolts Uzbekistan
A 3.5 magnitude earthquake hit Uzbekistan’s east, RIA Novosti
reported.
There was no immediate data on damage or casualties.
At 8:24 (UTC/GMT+5 hours) brief tremors were felt in Uzbekistan’s
capital, “Tashkent” seismic station reported.
The epicenter of the 3.5 magnitude earthquake was 15 kilometers far
to the north of Tashkent city on the border with Kazakhstan.
The epicenter of a 5.7 magnitude earthquake was 21 kilometers
far to the north of Tashkent at a depth of 14 kilometers, according
to the European Mediterranean Seismological Centre (EMSC).
This is the fifth earthquake felt in Uzbekistan since the beginning
of 2016. Two of them were felt on the territory of Uzbekistan,
three - in neighboring Afghanistan.
