Iran intends to boost its trade relations with other countries by sending economic delegations to them.

An official with the Trade Promotion Organization of Iran (TPOI) said recently Iran plans to send economic delegations to 30 countries to boost its trade ties.

TPOI's Deputy Director for Marketing, Mir-Aboutaleb Badri said the delegations, scheduled to be sent within the next month, will discuss holding joint exhibitions and attracting foreign investment into Iran, IRNA news agency reported.

He added that Iran has held joint economic meetings with at least ten countries since the beginning of the current Iranian calendar year (started march 21, 2014).

Trade delegations from across the world have visited Iran to discuss resumption of bilateral businesses since November 2013, when Iran and the five permanent members of the UN Security Council - the United States, Russia, France, Britain and China - plus Germany reached an interim nuclear deal in the Swiss city of Geneva.

Badri said building a joint industrial park with China is one of the agreements reached during the meetings, adding that the TPOI aims to "attract foreign direct investment" into the country.

In June, Badri said Iran would almost triple the number of commercial attachés in its embassies abroad to boost trade ties. He added that the administration of President Hassan Rouhani is going to raise the number of attaches from 11 to 30.

He noted that Tehran will send trade attachés to Germany, Italy, Serbia, Spain and Switzerland as a sign of Rouhani administration's determination to boost trade relations with them.

A Japanese delegation, consisting of politicians and businesspersons has visited Tehran to hold talks with Iranian officials.

The delegation's goal is to get familiar with Iran's labor laws and investment opportunities.

Japanese politicians and businessperson have already held a meeting with Deputy Minister of Cooperatives, Labor, and Social Welfare Mohammad Taqi Hosseini.

During the meeting the two sides discussed possible ways to boost the two countries' bilateral trade.

Japan and Iran have had good relations over the years. Japan is one of the main importers of the Iranian crude oil.
