BP Azerbaijan stops co-op with contractor linked to graft
BP Azerbaijan has stopped cooperating with a firm reportedly linked to a corruption scandal in Britain, the company said Tuesday. The name of the company was not disclosed.
According to BP, the process of terminating the contract with the company is underway. BP is seriously considering any potential violations of its own rules of conduct.
The Daily Telegraph newspaper previously reported that one of the contracting companies announced that it had given a bribe under a contract in Azerbaijan.
The company reportedly involved in corrupt practices has provided the UK`s Serious Fraud Office with the necessary information.
BP confirmed that it received information from a contractor that the latter had violated BP`s rules of conduct in the past.
