Iran ready to restore Baku-Anzali land transportation

Iran has expressed its readiness to restore the land transportation between Baku and Anzali to favor the mutual ties, head of the Anzali Trade-Industrial Free Zone said.

Reza Masrur told Azerbaijani journalists in Iranian Rasht city, on September 22 that restoration of the land transportation will expand Azerbaijani-Iranian relations in various fields, particularly in tourism sphere.

Neighboring Azerbaijan and Iran enjoy close relations in many fields, including political, economical, trade, financial and others.

The traditional trade relations is successfully developing nowadays. Iran is among the main trade partners of Azerbaijan with 441 investor companies and nearly $500 million investment in the South Caucasus country.

Masrur also called Azerbaijani investors to invest in Anzali free economic zone, adding that the Islamic Republic offers tax incentives for Azerbaijani businessmen who wants to invest in Anzali.

He noted that there are no limits for Azerbaijani entrepreneurs in terms of property planning. "Possibility of 100-percent property ownership is an advantage for the investors in this zone," Masrur said, adding that investors could withdraw their capital whenever they want.

He noted that a delegation of businessmen from Anzali is planning to visit Azerbaijan in November to study the country's economic potential.

Anzali Free Zone is located in the north of Iran and on the Caspian Sea. It includes industrial, trade, commercial, tourism and other various service facilities. The free zone is consisted of 2 separate sections in the west and east of the Anzali harbor. Existence of docks, shipping ports, customs office, industrial facilities in the zone creates a good condition for trade and industrial activity.
