Baku to host investment summit in 2014
Baku will host the Azerbaijani Investment Summit "2020 and further: accelerating economic development" in March 2014, a statement on the website of the summit's organizer The Economist says.
The agenda of the two-day summit will include the discussion of the concept of "Azerbaijan 2020: A Look into the Future", key elements of the program of economic diversification and trends affecting the economic development.
In addition, the summit participants will discuss measures to support the oil and gas sector in Azerbaijan, the prospects for the second phase of the Shah Deniz gas project and the country's potential in this industry.
One of the summit's sessions will focus on the development of agriculture in Azerbaijan and the investment attractiveness of the industry.
Also, the participants will discuss the situation in the ICT field in Azerbaijan, the role of information technology as a catalyst for sustainable economic development and investment opportunities in the sector.
A special session of the summit will focus on investments in infrastructure in Azerbaijan, study of the main problems in this area and analysis of the most effective investments in energy, transport, water, logistics and other areas that are vital for productivity and economic growth.
