Russia’s Tyumen region has offered Azerbaijan to build a
wholesale trade and distribution complex to simplify the export of
agricultural products.
This was announced by Governor of the region Vladimir Yakushev
during a meeting of the Caspian-European Integration Business Club
(CEIBC) on November 2.
“Construction of the complex will cost nearly 3 billion rubles ($47 million),” said Yakushev. “We are ready to provide construction sites for the complex, tax and other benefits to entrepreneurs.”
He also believes that the project’s payback period will be less than seven years.
Yakushev noted that the complex may be used not only for the supply of Azerbaijani fruits and vegetables to Tyumen and other regions of Russia, but also for the export of grain and potatoes from the Tyumen region to Azerbaijan.
Meanwhile, Tyumen region also intends to increase the supply of equipment for the oil and gas industry of Azerbaijan, according to Yakushev.
"To date, the oil engineering industry and our companies are actively cooperating with all Russian oil companies. But we would like to have more to deepen and expand these positions. Therefore, our task is to expand our presence in the market of Azerbaijan," said the governor.
He emphasized oil and gas engineering companies of Tyumen region
supply products such as fence fittings, submersible cables, pumps
used in oil production, and so on to Azerbaijan.
"This is a wide range of equipment necessary for the production of
hydrocarbons and its transport," said Yakushev.
