Baku condemns terrorist attack in Egypt
Azerbaijan’s Foreign Ministry has issued a statement to condemn the terrorist attack, committed against Hisham Barakat, the Attorney General of the Arab Republic of Egypt, AzerTac state news agency reported.
“Azerbaijan, as a country suffering from terrorism, condemns all forms and manifestations of terrorism. We express our solidarity with the Egyptian people and government in the fight against terrorism. We offer our deepest condolences to terror victim Hisham Barakat’s family members and relatives”.
Egypt's top public prosecutor was killed by a car bomb attack on his convoy on Monday. There was no confirmed claim of responsibility. Security sources said a bomb in a parked car was remotely detonated as Hisham Barakat's motorcade left his home, after saying earlier a car bomber had rammed into the convoy, Reuters reported.
