Armenia keeps high tension on contact line

Over the past 24 hours, Armenian military 87 times violated the ceasefire on various parts of the contact line between Azerbaijani and Armenian troops, Azerbaijan’s Defense Ministry reported.

Armenians stationed in the villages of Berkaber and the nameless heights of the Ijevan district, Voskepar, Voskevan of the Noyemberyan district of Armenia opened fire on the Azerbaijani armed forces’ positions located in the villages of Ashagi Askipara, Qushchu Ayrim, Qizilhajili and the nameless heights of the Qazakh district.

Armenians stationed in the villages of Chinari and Aygepar and the nameless heights of Armenia’s Berd district opened fire on the Azerbaijani armed forces’ positions located in the villages of Alibayli, Kohanebi and Munjuqlu of the Tovuz district.

Armenians stationed in the nameless heights of Armenia’s Krasnoselsk district opened fire on the Azerbaijani armed forces’ positions located in the nameless heights of the Qadabay district.

Azerbaijani armed forces were also fired at from the positions near the villages of Goyarkh, Chilyaburt of the Terter district, Tapqaraqoyunlu of the Goranboy district, Shikhlar, Yusifjanli, Sarijali, Shuraabad, Marzili, Javakhirli, Novruzlu of the Aghdam district, Horadiz, Ashagi Seyidahmadli, Qarakhanbayli, Qorgan of the Fizuli district, Kuropatkino of the Khojavand district.

Moreover, the Azerbaijani soldiers came under the Armenians’ fire from the positions on the nameless heights in the Goygol, Goranboy, Fizuli and Khojavend districts.

The enemy was silenced with return fire.

The bloody war, which flared up in the late 1980s due to Armenia's territorial claims against its South Caucasus neighbor, left without home over a million of civilians of Nagorno-Karabakh and the regions adjoining it, as well as the regions bordering with Armenia and Nagorno-Karabakh.

They are temporarily settled in more than 1,600 settlements across 62 cities and regions of Azerbaijan. The Azerbaijanis who were displaced from their homes as result of the brutal war were forced to live in refugee camps, tents and wagons in very difficult conditions.

Moreover, thousands of Azerbaijanis have been expelled from Armenia and become refugees due to Armenia's ethnic cleansing policy after the emergence of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict with Azerbaijan. As a result of the military aggression of Armenia, over 20,000 Azerbaijanis were killed, 4,866 are reported missing and almost 100,000 were injured, and 50,000 were disabled.
