Alexander Vucic, Serbian Prime Minister and Eldar Hasanov, Azerbaijani Ambassador to the country sat for talks to discuss political and economic relations between the two countries.

During the meeting, Vucic expressed satisfaction with the operation of Azerbaijani company AzVirt, involved in construction works on the Ljig-Preljina section of Corridor 11.

“The excellent performance of AzVirt paves the way for other Azerbaijani companies that are interested to work in Serbia,” Vucic said.

Ambassador Hasanov, for his part, invited Vucic to Azerbaijan to promote the two countries' relations, particularly in economy.

He also said Serbia is a factor of peace and stability in the Balkans owing to the wise policy of Prime Minister Vucic.

The parties said the Azerbaijani companies’ participation in the new infrastructure projects in Serbia is highly important. He also pointed to their great interest in cooperation in agriculture and other areas.

Accordingly, the two sides decided to sign an agreement during Vucic’s upcoming visit to Azerbaijan.

The meeting also touched on Serbia’s future presidency of the OSCE.

The two countries also discussed the arrangements for the PM’s visit to Azerbaijan. As part of the visit, the Azerbaijan-Serbia business forum will be held.

The Azerbaijani-Serbian relations, which are based on the principles of mutual respect and confidence, are rapidly developing. The two countries have significant opportunities to develop cooperation in the construction of infrastructure facilities, tourism, and education.

The two countries signed several documents in the legal sphere. Draft agreements on the protection and quarantine of plants, international cargo traffic, health care, and medicine are still to be ratified.
