Azerbaijan`s tolerance model can be example for whole world
Azerbaijan`s tolerance model could be an example for whole world, especially for Eastern countries.
British ambassador to Azerbaijan Irfan Siddiq made the remark at
the meeting with Chairman of State Committee for Work with
Religious Organizations Mubariz Gurbanli, AzerTag state news agency
reported.
The sides discussed the role of religion in Azerbaijan`s modern
society, the position of Muslim countries in global world.
Siddiq said Azerbaijan was one of those unique countries which there were not religious discrimination.
With a predominantly Muslim population, Azerbaijan is regarded as one of the most tolerant nations in the world. The country made a significant progress in religious atmosphere and fighting extremism.
Last year on November 16, on the International Day of Tolerance, Azerbaijan was listed among the world's top five tolerant countries. Model of tolerance in Azerbaijan was considered a model for the Muslim world. It was underlined that Azerbaijan has succeeded to create a peaceful and friendly atmosphere for people of all faiths and nationalities living in the country.
