Azerbaijan-Croatia ties appraised

Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev received a delegation led by First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign and European Affairs of the Republic of Croatia Vesna Pusic on October 30,AzerTag state news agency reported.

The sides expressed their satisfaction with the dynamic development of bilateral relations between Azerbaijan and Croatia in the political, economic and other fields in recent years.

They noted that there were good opportunities for cooperation in the energy area and stressed the importance of the Southern Gas Corridor in this regard.

During the conversation, the sides also discussed cooperation between Azerbaijan and the European Union and a number of issues of mutual interest.

During the Baku visit, the Croatian delegation visited the Alley of Honors to lay a wreath at the tomb of national leader, founder and architect of modern Azerbaijani state Heydar Aliyev.

The delegation also put flowers at the grave of prominent ophthalmologist, academician Zarifa Aliyeva.

Then the delegation visited the Alley of Martyrs to commemorate Azerbaijani heroes who gave their lives for the country's independence and territorial integrity.

The Croatian minister laid a wreath at the Eternal Flame monument.
