Azerbaijan strategic partner of U.S

The Baku American Center (BAC) has re-opened after major renovation with the participation of the officials of the U.S and Azerbaijan.

Rafik Mansour, Senior Deputy Director for Public Affairs in Europe and Eurasia at the U.S. Department of State and Dereck Hogan, Charge d`Affaires at the U.S. Embassy in Baku, officially opened the Center alongside Samed Seyidov, Rector of Azerbaijan University of Languages (AUL).

The Baku American Center, which is located at the Azerbaijan University of Languages, was equipped with the modern technologies and open to everyone with its wider resources now.

Speaking to the opening ceremony, Samad Seyidov said that Azerbaijan was the strategic partner of the U.S. He added that Azerbaijan, due to its position and policy, could be an example not only for the region, but for the other countries, as well.

Charge d`Affaires at the U.S. Embassy in Baku, Dereck Hogan, hailed the modernized Baku American Center as an important component of the strategic cooperation between the two states.

Senior Deputy Director for Public Affairs in Europe and Eurasia at the U.S. Department of State, Rafik Mansour, in his turn said there were 700 American Centers all over the world, but few of them were supplied with the modern technologies. He also added that Azerbaijani students studying in the U.S. will increase hereafter.

Members of the Azerbaijani Parliament Sevinj Fataliyeva and Asim Mollazade appraised the opening of the renovated center.

The American Center was first opened in Baku in 2004 and is located at the Azerbaijan University of Languages (AUL) since 2007. It contributes to learning the English language and getting information about the U.S.
