President Aliyev visits Fuzuli region

Azerbaijan's President Ilham Aliyev arrived in Fuzuli region on August 29, as part of his visits to the regions of the country.
Upon arrival, the head of state visited a statue of national leader Heydar Aliyev in Horadiz.
Head of Fuzuli Region Executive Authority Ali Aliyev briefed President Aliyev about the works recently carried out in the region.
Expansion and reconstruction work in the Heydar Aliyev Park, where the statue of the national leader is located, was successfully completed. The area of the park was expanded to 2.5 hectares. The green areas were laid out and entertainment corners installed to ensure effective organization of people's rest in the park.
The president then met with representatives of the local communities in the Heydar Aliyev Center located in the park.
Later in the day, the head of state opened a garment factory in Horadiz. The factory is equipped with state-of-the-art gear and devices that paves the way for the manufacture of high quality products.
School and military uniform will be produced at the facility at the initial stage. The products will be sold at domestic market. The factory will initially have an estimated annual turnover of 2 million manats. The facility has created up to 100 job opportunities. The figure is expected to rise in the near future.
This shows that Azerbaijan's policy to develop the non-oil sector has already yielded tangible results. Dependence of Azerbaijan's economy on oil is gradually lessening and the creation of new production areas makes the country's economy more powerful.
The president also visited the Flag Square in Horadiz.
The square, which occupies a total area of 10 hectares, commands a view of the entire city of Horadiz.
Green areas were created and landscaping work carried out there. A 287-step stairway leads up to the square. A road linked to the area was laid and a parking lot built there. The flagpole stands at 68 meters and is clearly visible from all adjacent areas. The construction of three recreation corners increases the square's importance.
During the visit, President Aliyev also attended the opening ceremony of orphanage-kindergarten No. 2. The center's construction was initiated by the Heydar Aliyev Foundation in Horadiz.
All conditions are created in the two-storey building for bringing up and educating children. Taking into consideration that the children will spend half of the day in the kindergarten, the bringing up and education of children were taken as an important factor. Special attention is paid to ensuring intellectual, physical and mental development of children, discovering their talents and abilities, protecting their health and helping them communicate with people.
For this purpose, modern classrooms fitted with all the necessary equipment and teaching aids were created. Nutrition of the children is in the focus of attention. A drawing room was also established here in order to develop the children's logical and mental abilities. The area of the kindergarten was landscaped and the green stripes were laid out.
