Preliminary cause of mine blast on frontline revealed

The preliminary cause of the explosion, which killed three soldiers of the Azerbaijani army, was revealed.

Azerbaijani defense minister and a group of officers earlier arrived at the incident site in order to investigate the mine blast case on the contact line of Armenian and Azerbaijani troops in the direction of the Fizuli region. The investigation group has already returned Baku.

The preliminary investigation shows that an anti-tank mine left over from the war caused the explosion, the ministry said.

The mine left unnoticed due to the fact that it was buried in depth and the explosion occurred at this site during the earthwork there.

The military prosecutor's office has launched a criminal case on the fact.

Azerbaijani army soldiers - Novruz Abdullayev, Seyfeddin Karimov and Captain Jeyhun Orujaliyev were killed as a result of the mine explosion.

Azerbaijani Defense Ministry expressed condolences to the parents and relatives of the dead servicemen.

Meanwhile, six soldiers - Bahruz Musayev, Ali Mirzayev, Azer Isgandarzade, Mursal Zulfugarov, Sadiq Cabrayilov and Emin Talibov were wounded as a result of the mine blast.

Seriously injured Bahruz Musayev and Emin Talibov were transported to Baku by a military helicopter. The wounded were put it in Clinic Hospital of the armed forces for receiving urgent emergency assistance.

Azerbaijani soldiers Musayev Bahruz Muhammadali oglu and Talibov Emin Talib oglu, who were severely injured as a result of the mine explosion, were transferred to Baku on a military-medical helicopter. They were put into the Main Clinical Hospital of the Azerbaijani Armed Forces.

Chief surgeon and chief resuscitator of the Azerbaijani armed forces have arrived at the military hospital in Ahmadbayli village of Fizuli region for providing the injured soldiers with highly qualified medical assistance.
