Armenia’s another provocation prevented [UPDATE]

Armenian Armed Forces continue to take action in order to escalate the situation along the entire frontline.

Azerbaijan`s Defense Ministry reported that the Armenian side has once again tried to carry out provocation in the direction of Talish village.

“The enemy's attempts to approach to the positions of Azerbaijani Armed Forces were strongly suppressed thanks to the vigilance of Azerbaijani military units located on frontline,” the ministry said, adding that the enemy suffered losses and was forced to retreat.

Azerbaijani Armed Forces did not suffer any losses.

Overall, the Armenian armed units shattered ceasefire with Azerbaijan a total of 129 times throughout the day using 60 and 82-millimeter mortars (a total of 9 shells) and large-caliber machine guns.

The Armenian armed forces, stationed in Armenia`s Shavarshavan, Voskevan and Dovekh villages and nameless hills in Noyemberyan district, Chinari and Aygedzor villages in Berd, Paravakar village in Ijevan districts subjected to fire the positions of the Azerbaijani armed forces located in Farahli, Kohnegishlag, Gushchu Ayrim, Kamarli villages and nameless hills in Gazakh district, Munjuglu and Aghbulag villages in Tovuz district.

The ceasefire was also violated in Chilaburt and Goyarkh villages in Tartar district , Shikhlar, Sarijali, Namirli, Garagashli, Javahirli and Merzili villages in Aghdam district, Kuropatkino village in Khojavand district, Gorgan, Horadiz, Ashagi Veyselli and Garakhanbayli villages in Fuzuli district, Mehdili village in Jabrayil district as well as nameless hills in Tartar, Khojavand , Goronboy, Aghdam, Jabrayil and Fuzuli districts.

Given the operational situation, the Azerbaijani army took adequate retaliatory actions.

Azerbaijan and Armenia for over two decades have been locked in conflict, which emerged over Armenian territorial claims. Since the 1990s war, Armenian armed forces have occupied over 20 percent of Azerbaijan's internationally recognized territory, including Nagorno-Karabakh and seven adjacent regions. The UN Security Council has adopted four resolutions on Armenian withdrawal, but they have not been enforced to this day.
