The Eurasian Kempo Championship will kick off in the Shagan Olympic Sport Complex in Baku on October 5.

The championship will be held on Kempo and Full Kempo Submission (Grappling Gi), Trend Life reported.

The tournament is organized by the Baku City Youth and Sports Department and Association of Martial Arts Clubs "Togrul".

Kempo as the term used as a general name for all martial arts, regardless of ethnicity.

The training methods are divided into three parts: self-defense training, mental training, and health training. The basis are the concepts that "spirit and body are not separable and that it is integral to "train both body and spirit".

This year, Azerbaijani kempo fighters have claimed a clutch of five gold medals at the World Martial Arts Games in Batumi, Georgia.

The gold medals came from Togrul Ibrahimli (55kg), Javid Allahverdiyev (61kg), Khayal Mammadzade (75kg), Ulvi Sadigzade (80kg) and Orkhan Alizade.

Moreover, Azerbaijani kempo fighters have won three medals at the European Championships in Budapest, Hungary.

Parviz Pashayev grabbed the bronze, while Khayal Mammadzade and Ilham Aghaverdiyev scooped the silver medals of the tournament.
