CSTO,Kazakhstan discuss int'l situation
The issues regarding foreign policy coordination within the CSTO was discussed at the meeting of Kazakh Foreign Minister Erlan Idrisov and CSTO Secretary General of Nikolai Bordyuzha in Astana.
The Kazakh Foreign Ministry reported that the parties also discussed the main trends in the development of the international situation and a number of other pressing issues on security in the area of responsibility of the organization.
Bordyuzha informed the Minister on the preparations for the upcoming joint meeting of the Council of Foreign Ministers, Defence Ministers and the Committee of Secretaries of Security Councils, as well as the Collective Security Council of the CSTO member-countries in Sochi on Sept. 23.
The main themes of the September meeting will be the deepening of the political and military cooperation within the organization, as well as development of measures to counter modern threats and challenges.
