Kazakh Foreign Ministry refutes information on increase in consular fees
The Kazakh Foreign Ministry released a statement where the
information on increase in consular fees was refuted.
"Such interpretation of the Foreign Minister's report does not
correspond to reality," the Ministry said.
Earlier some media reported about increased rates of the
consular fees referring to Kazakh Foreign Minister Erlan Idrisov's
decree.
In fact, the consular fees were changed only for the U.S citizens
in accordance with the agreements between the two governments on
the unification of consular fees for the visa issuance.
Earlier reciprocal visa fees for Kazakh and the U.S. citizens
ranged between $160 and $240. In particular a private visa cost
$240, and business visa $190. According to the new decree, the
consular fee for all kinds of visas will be $160.
The rates of consular fees for citizens of other foreign countries
have not been changed.
Any additional information on consular fees is available on the
official website of the Foreign Ministry www.mfa.gov.kz in a
consular issues section.
