Baghdad Municipality asked local Iranian companies to participate in the rebuilding of the city, Fars news agency reported.

Baghdad mayor's administrative and technical assistant Naim Kabi met with Economic Counsellor of Iran's embassy, Bagher Juwayni, and the sides discussed possibility of Iranian companies participating in rebuilding the city's infrastructure.

Naim Kabi noted at the meeting that the Municipality soon plans to implement new development project that would require world's leading companies to participate.

Speaking of Iranian companies, Kabi noted that those would in particular be useful in the housing sector.

It was also noted at the meeting that the delegation from Iran's Mashhad city will be visiting Baghdad soon, not only to expand relations but also to review the development plan.
