Kazakh president meets Lukoil head
Kazakh President Nursultan Nazarbayev has met the president of
Russian oil company Lukoil Vagit Alekperov, Trend news agency
reported referring to the presidential press-service.
Nazarbayev said that Lukoil is Russia's largest investor in oil and
gas sector of the country. He also stressed the need to strengthen
cooperation and develop interaction in different fields of the
economy.
Alekperov, in turn, said Lukoil has invested $7 billion in
Kazakhstan's economy and works actively in various projects now.
One of these projects is the construction of a lubricants plant in
the Southern Kazakhstan which capacity will hit up to 100,000 tons
annually.
Lukoil has been working in Kazakhstan since 1995. The company
participates in seven Kazakh mining projects, as well as in the
Caspian Pipeline Consortium.
