Iran supplies 83 mcm of gas per day to key industries
Iran has supplied 83 million cubic meters (mcm) of natural gas
per day on the average to its key industries since the beginning of
the Iranian calendar year (March 20) , Shana news agency quoted
National Iranian Gas Company's managing director Javad Owji as
saying.
Over 50,000 industrial units nationwide are being supplied with
natural gas, he added.
Iran's gas consumption will reach 600 million cubic meters per day
in the upcoming winter, deputy director of National Iranian Gas
Company Mostafa Kashkouli said in October.
"Iran's national gas pipeline network currently has the capacity to
transfer 700 million cubic meters of gas per day," he noted.
Iran, with 155 billion barrels of recoverable oil reserves, ranks
fourth worldwide, after Venezuela, Saudi Arabia, and Canada.
With 34 trillion cubic meters of natural gas reserves, Iran has the
world's second-largest natural gas reserves after Russia.
