President Aliyev meets top officials in Lithuania

Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev arrived in Lithuania for a business trip on November 28.

The Head of State was welcomed by Lithuanian officials at the Vilnius International Airport.

President Aliyev then met Lithuanian Prime Minister Algirdas Butkevicius in Vilnius.

They hailed development of bilateral bonds between Azerbaijan and Lithuania in a variety of fields, including politics and economy.

President Aliyev and Premier Butkevicius noted there were ample opportunities for expanding cooperation between the two countries on various fronts, including energy and trade, as well as increasing Azerbaijan`s investments in Lithuania.

The president also met his Latvian counterpart Andris Berzins in Vilnius.

The presidents noted friendly bilateral relations between Azerbaijan and Latvia in a variety of fields, including politics and economy.

They stressed the importance of high-level reciprocal visits in terms of expanding Azerbaijani-Latvian cooperation.

Presidents Aliyev and Berzins expressed confidence that the bilateral ties between the two countries would continue to develop.

They also exchanged views on other issues of mutual concern.

Following, Azerbaijani President met with United Kingdom Prime Minister David Cameron in Vilnius.

They hailed the progress of Azerbaijan-UK relations in a variety of fields, including politics, economy, trade and energy.

President Aliyev and the PM Cameron expressed confidence that bilateral ties between the two countries would continue to expand.

They also discussed regional cooperation and international issues.

Later, President Aliyev attended an unofficial working dinner given for the heads of state, government and delegations participating in the third Eastern Partnership Summit, gets underway in Vilnius on November 28-29.
