The event entitled "I am SABAH Graduate" has been solemnly held in Baku, bringing together talented students.
SABAH groups were established in 34 specialties in 7 state higher education institutions in the 2014-2015 academic year in order to further improve the higher education system in Azerbaijan.
The project now enrolls more than 2,300 students in 39 specialties in 12 higher education institutions. A total of 701 SABAH students graduated in the 2018-2019 academic year.
Vice-President of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation Leyla Aliyeva attended the event, which included the graduation ceremony and "I am SABAH Graduate" exhibition.
National anthem of Azerbaijan sounded at the event and then a video highlighting the activity of SABAH groups was showcased.
Leyla Aliyeva, Minister of Education Jeyhun Bayramov and other participants of the event first viewed "I am SABAH Graduate" exhibition.
Speaking at the event, Bayramov spoke about the activities implemented for further improving development of the higher education system, in accordance with the State Strategy for the Development of Education approved by President Ilham Aliyev, as well as about successful results achieved in this area.
In his speech, he noted that the project, which started in the 2014-2015 academic year with 755 students, now covers more than 2,300 students.
The project is a model of education that was created not only to study international experience, but also taking into account the values of Azerbaijan and the country's objectives.
Bayramov also brought to attention the multifaceted educational reforms carried out in recent years. He noted the creation of favorable conditions for the quality education of young people in the country. Bayramov stressed that the SABAH groups occupy a major place among these reforms.
He congratulated all the graduates and wished them success in their future activities.
A symbolic SABAH key was handed over to 3rd year students. The event continued with the performance of the SABAH anthem and artistic performances.
