This issue becomes essential during the children's holidays or weekends, when parents have free time from work and want to devote it to their family, to communicate and spend time with the most important and beloved ones.
Let's try to answer this question and see how to spend not only Sundays and holidays, but also weekdays in an engaging way and with the greatest benefit for children of different ages.
A mandatory point of the recreation program, not only for local families, but for the guests of Baku who came with their children as well is visiting the Ferris Wheel. The Baku Eye is located on the coast, from there it is possible to see the famous city sights perfectly and admire the most beautiful areas. Nearby there is a landscaped park with benches and playgrounds for toddlers, and in summer, vacationers can rent a bike and ride along the embankment of the coast.
There are many beautiful and well-equipped parks in the city, where you can also enjoy your time with the whole family. One of the most interesting is the Nagorny Park, you can reach it by cable car. The park is located on the top of the mountain. Its spacious observation platforms offer a gorgeous view of the city. The park will definitely please the children. There are many spacious alleys, squares where you can run, equipped picnic areas and many interesting cultural attractions that the whole family will be interested to explore.
No less beautiful and interesting is the Park of Officers. Since its inception, it has been very popular among visitors with children. In addition to the abundance of trees and shrubs, this park is decorated with many sculptures, including the “Children's round dance”. In summer, playgrounds for children are available to park visitors, and a circus is located very close to the park. Moreover, in cold winter days, ice scating will bring joy to you and your children. There is an ice rink on the territory of the park. Here one-time visits are possible, as well as entry by subscription. Also, there is a cafe on the territory of the rink, where tired but happy fans of active winter holidays will be able to sit, warm up and recuperate to re-enter the ice.
Of course, one of the main attractions of the city is the Baku Zoo. It is not large, but invites visitors to get acquainted with an interesting collection of representatives of the wild world. Here you can see cheetahs, tigers and lions, young visitors are offered to ride around the zoo on a donkey. One of the most interesting is an open-air cage with wild birds, here you can see rare species of falcons, and herons live in a beautiful artificial pond.
There are also many museums in Baku to bring some cultural aspect to your weekend, including a small private Baku museum of miniature books. Entrance to this museum is absolutely free. It presents an interesting collection of small books on various subjects.
Those who like to relax more in the fresh air should visit the Gala Historical and Ethnographic Museum. This is a beautiful open-air museum, which is located on the territory of the reserve. The museum offers many interesting activities and master classes for children and adults. You will be able to see a real medieval castle, visit a mini-farm where sheep live, and also view collections of exhibits hidden in the walls of local galleries. In addition to historical artifacts, there is an interesting collection of robots here, in the halls you can see old carriages and interesting household items that local residents used hundreds of years ago.
In addition to all the above-mentioned, there are many children's entertainment centers in Baku. Master classes, exhibitions, concerts, performances for little ones are constantly held in various places of the city such as the Azerbaijan Academic Drama Theater, Heydar Aliyev Palace, YARAT Art Center, etc.
