Azerbaijan to perform in 2nd semi-final of Eurovision 2015

Next Eurovision Song Contest 2015 will be held in Vienna, Austria.

Austrian Conchita Wurst won ESC 2014 at the B&W Hallerne, Copenhagen, on May 10. That's why Austria will be the next country, where this grandiose event will take place.

The Host City Insignia ceremony and the Semi-Final Allocation Draw for the 2015 ESC took place at the City Hall in Vienna, Austria.

The hosts of the Allocation Draw, Kati Bellowitsch and Andi Knoll, announced it was time for the most exciting moment as all countries were drawn into the Semi-Finals as well as in either the first or the second part of the show.

Azerbaijan will perform in the second semi-final of the 2015 Eurovision Song Contest.

The first Semi-Final will be held on the 19th of May. It will have 16 participants while the second one with 17 singers will takes place on the 21st of May. The big Final of the 2015 Eurovision Song Contest is on the 23rd of May.

So far, it is unknown who will represent the country at the 60th ESC. The winner will be announced after the national qualifying round, which will be held further.

This is the eighth time that Azerbaijan will participate in the ESC. The country debuted at the contest in 2008 and has always presented a remarkable show since then.

Azerbaijan won the event on its fourth attempt in 2011 with Ell and Nikki's Running Scared song, which brought the contest to Baku in 2012.

The ESC is broadcasting every year since its inauguration in 1956 and thus became one of the longest-running television programs in the world. It is also one of the most watched non-sporting events in the world, with some 100 million to 600 million audiences internationally. Since 2000, ESC can be seen online.
