The German embassy in Azerbaijan presents the German comedy "Turkish for Beginners" produced by Turkish-German author and screen writer Bora Dagtekin in 2012 within the European Film Festival, due in Baku next week.

The traditional European Film Festival will be hosted by the Delegation of the European Union and the Embassies of the EU member states jointly with the network of Park Cinema movie theaters in the Azerbaijani capital from October 30 to November 6.

The festival will present films from 17 European countries (Austria, Belgium, Croatia, the Czech Republic, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Hungary, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, the Netherlands, Poland, Romania, Sweden and the United Kingdom) and Azerbaijan.

The festival will also host discussions between film experts and the audience.

The event will take place in three cinema centers in Baku - Park Cinema in Park Boulevard, Park Cinema of the Metro Park and Nizami Cinema.

The entrance is free and tickets can be obtained from Park Cinema, Park Boulevard.

The comedy "Turkish for Beginners" tells after emergency landing the story of a German teenage girl, Lena Schneider (Josefine Preuß), Costa, a teenager from Berlin of Greek descent (Arnel Taci), and Cem Öztürk (Elyas M'Barek), a Turkish macho-teenager, as well as his deeply religious Muslim sister Yagmur (Pegah Ferydoni); they all strand on a deserted island. Until being rescued, they are fighting like cats and dogs, trying to escape from and making their way through the jungle, and finding love in between as does the "forever young" mother Doris (Anna Tieblich) and Turkish widower Metin Öztürk (Adnan Maral), who keep contact with their teenage children from a luxury hotel complex through a walkie-talkie device.
