EOC president: All conditions to hold European Games are created in Baku

All the conditions to hold the European Games at a high level are created in Baku, President of the European Olympic Committee (EOC) Patrick Hickey said at a press conference held in connection with the completion of the first meeting of the Coordination Committee of the European Games.

"Yesterday was a very important day. We are very pleased by the progress that we have achieved in Baku. We are pleased with the attention paid to this work by the President and the First Lady. We looked at the construction of facilities, inspected the Olympic Village. All the conditions for holding the Games at high level have been created. Some works have already been performed. We are very pleased with the objects being constructed in Azerbaijan, they are close to the Olympic Village, there is no transportation problem, that construction will be completed on time and at a high level. We are on schedule, there are no delays, and we believe that everything will be completed on time," Hickey said.

According to him, each of the 49 member countries of the EOC will participate in the competition.

Hickey said he does not believe that any country will not take part in the competition for any reason.

Holding this competition at a high level is a great opportunity for Baku. If everything goes in order, it will be a positive page for Baku, Hickey said.

The first European games will be held in Baku on June 12-28, 2015.
