AGF Sec.Gen. Azerbaijani gymnasts have good chances at Baku 2017

Azerbaijani gymnasts will have very good chances at the 2017 Islamic Solidarity Games in Baku, said Farid Gaibov, secretary general of the Azerbaijan Gymnastics Federation (AGF).
Azerbaijan will be represented in three types of gymnastics at the Islamic Solidarity Games, he told reporters in Baku on April 27.
“Those are men's and women's artistic gymnastics, and rhythmic gymnastics. All three types of gymnastics are Olympic sports,” Gaibov noted.
He said that in rhythmic gymnastics, there will be team competitions.
The AGF secretary general noted that currently there are six types of gymnastics in Azerbaijan and some of them have started developing in recent years.
He added that Azerbaijani gymnasts will head for the European championship immediately after the Islamic Solidarity Games.
The 4th Islamic Solidarity Games will be held on May 12-22 in Baku. About 6,000 athletes from 57 countries will compete in the Games.
Rhythmic gymnasts Marina Durunda, Jala Piriyeva, Zohra Aghamirova, women artistic gymnasts Yuliya Inshina, Marina Nekrasova, Maria Smirnova, Ekaterina Tishkova, men artistic gymnasts Murad Agharzayev, Timur Bayramov and Bense Talas will represent Azerbaijan at Baku 2017.
The classification phase on rhythmic gymnastics will take place on May 12-13 and finals will be held on May 14. The classification phase on artistic gymnastics will take place on May 13-14 and finals will be held on May 15.
