Presidential candidate welcomes progress in Georgian-Russian ties
The presidential candidate from the People's Assembly, Nino Burjanadze, welcomes the emerging progress in Russian-Georgian relations.
She commented on the recent statement made by the President of Russia, Vladimir Putin, and noted that this statement was incompetently evaluated by both the majority and minority.
Burjanadze also referred to the arrest in Georgia of two foreign nationals suspected of preparing a terrorist act, and said she can not link this fact to anything until the end of the investigation.
She made these statements at the Old Tbilisi hotel, which hosted the meeting of the executive board of the People's Assembly and the People's Council.
