Malaysian company intends to create fish cluster in Uzbekistan

One of the leading Malaysian fish-breeding companies A Farm Agrotech Sdn Bhd plans to implement a project to create a cluster in the Uzbek Khorezm region, Uzbek media reports.

An intensive fish farming cluster will specialize in integrated production. It is planned to create incubation workshops, the production of fish and fry, the release of fish food with high protein content, as well as the processing and storage of fish products.

The fish industry plays an important role in the Malaysian national economic development. The share of the agricultural industry in the country's GDP was about 5 percent ($ 23.5 billion) at the end of 2018, in which fish farming reached 12 percent or $ 2.8 billion, produced more than 2 million tons of fish and other seafood.

A Farm Agrotech Sdn Bhd has modern energy-efficient technology, providing the production of more than 10 species of fish and fry. The company's weekly fish production is over 10 tons. Products are exported to China and the countries of Southeast Asia.

An innovative approach of the company is the introduction of special feeds made from fruits and vegetables with the addition of essential minerals for effective and rapid development and growth of fish.

In addition to production, A Farm Agrotech Sdn Bhd also offers training services in the creation of modern fisheries in Uzbekistan that meet international standards.

It is planned to hold negotiations with the companies of the fish industry of Uzbekistan to discuss further plans for the implementation of this investment project on January 24.

Diplomatic relations between Uzbekistan and Malaysia were established on February 21, 1992.

Exports from Uzbekistan to Malaysia increased by 2.7 times in January-September 2018, compared with the same period of the previous year. Currently, 16 enterprises with Malaysian capital are registered in Uzbekistan.

A Farm Agrotech is a Malaysia based agriculture and aquaculture consulting company that provides expert opinions, technology transfer, and farm project management services to new and existing agriculture and aquaculture farming projects worldwide.

For agriculture, the company has also been researching on the fertigation culture of rockmelon, cucumber and hot chili in the past few years.

Specific formulated water soluble fertilizers have been produced to optimize growth and quality. Several technology transfer projects have been completed to fellow farmers about fertigation culture with or without a greenhouse. It covers both highland and lowland crops.
