Iran's deputy oil minister says gas imports from Turkmenistan to increase
Imports of gas from Turkmenistan will be increased in the near
future to 40 million cubic meters per day, Iran's Deputy Oil
Minister Jawad Owji said, ISNA news agency reported.
"About six months ago, Iran was receiving some 4-5 million cubic
meters of gas per day from Turkmenistan, and this figure will be
increased to 40 million cubic meters per day soon," Owji said.
Owji will be part of the Iranian delegation headed by country's Oil
Minister Rostam Qhasemi, that will be heading to Turkmenistan
soon.
Owji said last month that Turkmenistan's gas exports to Iran has
reduced by 52 percent in the current year compared to the last
year.
