E-government portal introduces new identification system

The portal Electronic Government has integrated a new identification system allowing citizens to obtain payment copy of a fixed communication services including voice services, Internet services, fixed telephony, etc.

The Information Computer Center of the Communications and High Technologies Ministry reported that the integration became possible after the improvement of the electronic subsystem of a single e-appeal of the Labor and Social Protection Ministry.

In the future, one of the criteria for assessing the need of social assistance will be the costs for mobile services and fixed line.

Information exchange, which will be established between the Center and the Ministry will allow the agency to get information about the current and annual debt of subscriber, check debt and costs of other SIM-cards.

Automation of the process will also be interesting for banks to assess the creditworthiness of borrowers in the provision of loans.

The e-portal connects utilities and communications companies, operators of fixed and mobile communication.

The e-government portal is a key tool for supporting work with citizens and enterprises in the public and private sectors. It aims to reduce the number of documents requested from citizens, as different bodies will interact with each other electronically.

Earlier, the Automated Payment Utility Service of the state payment portal was integrated into the e-government portal, which made online payment more convenient.

Currently, the number of the state institutions connected to the portal includes the ministries of economy and industry, emergency situation, taxes, and internal affairs. The system also enjoys the services of the State Social Protection Fund, State Customs Committee, State Migration Service, and Azerbaijan Mortgage Fund.

Launched in 2013, currently, the portal offers about 400 e-services through 45 government agencies. Over one million citizens are active users of e-services of the state agencies.

Moreover, the e-government portal allows for the provision of e-services to citizens of foreign countries.
