Poland eyes investing in agrarian, food sectors of Azerbaijan
Janusz Pehochinsky, Polish Deputy Prime Minister and Economy
Minister, will visit Azerbaijan to participate in the 22nd
international Caspian Oil and Gas Exhibition and Conference, the
Polish embassy in Baku told Trend.
During the visit, Pehochinsky intends to hold several meetings in
the government of Azerbaijan and to discuss the prospects for
further cooperation between the two countries in the economic
sphere.
The embassy said that the Polish government considers making
investments in Azerbaijan and the perspective areas are the
agrarian sector, food production.
Special attention will be paid to these issues during the
negotiations with the Azerbaijani side, the embassy said, adding
that Poland also considers participation in the projects related to
the transport infrastructure of Azerbaijan as a perspective area
for cooperation.
As of 2014, the trade turnover between the two countries amounted
to $78.678 million. According to the Polish statistics, the index
hit $140 million as of 2014.
The biggest event of the energy sector in the Caspian region – the
22nd international Caspian Oil and Gas Exhibition and Conference
will be held in the Baku Expo Center on June 2-5. Over 250
companies will attend the exhibition.
The Caspian Oil and Gas international conference will traditionally
be an important component of the business program. The conference
will be held in JW Marriott Absheron Baku hotel on June 3-4,
2015.
ITE Group PLC and its partner - Iteca Caspian LLC are the
organizers of the exhibition and conference.
