Armenian MP admits occupation of Azerbaijan`s lands
An Armenian MP has admitted that his country occupied
Azerbaijan`s lands, AzerTac state news agency reported.
According to Azerbaijani MP Ali Huseynli, this happened during the
winter session of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of
Europe in Strasbourg.
Huseynli said: "During his speech at the session Pedro Agramunt, a
co-rapporteur on Azerbaijan, noted that 20 percent of the
Azerbaijani territories were occupied and more than 1 million
people became refugees and IDPs as a result of Armenia`s
aggression."
"The Armenian delegation interrupted Pedro Agramunt`s speech and
said that the number is incorrect. They said 14 percent, not 20
percent of the Azerbaijani territories were occupied, and 700 000,
not 1 million people were displaced from Nagorno Karabakh and the
surrounding regions."
Huseynli noted: "Agramunt immediately responded that this is an
official confession and in fact, Armenia occupied Azerbaijan`s
territories."
"This confused Armenians and pro-Armenian members of PACE," the
Azerbaijani MP added.
