U.S. seeks to develop cooperation with Azerbaijan in education

US hopes to develop cooperation with Azerbaijan in education field, U.S.Ambassador to Azerbaijan Richard Morningstar told journalists on Tuesday.

"I have been extremely impressed with students in Azerbaijan. I think these are the students that will become the future of Azerbaijan," Morningstar said answering the question about the level of education in Azerbaijan.

He said he is learning the issue by visiting the country's universities.

"I hope that we can continue cooperation on helping to develop programs that will be useful for universities and students of the country," Morningstar said.

The United States Agency for International Development (USAID) and Baku State University (BSU) signed a memorandum of cooperation on master's program at the Law Faculty of the university in 2013-2014 academic year in Baku on Tuesday.

The memorandum was signed by USAID Azerbaijan Mission Director Michael Greene and BSU Principal Abel Maharramov.

The memorandum envisages cooperation in the preparation of master's program, development of a curriculum, etc.
