AIESEC International Youth Organization has organized it’s biggest annual event – Youth Speak Forum 2018.
The event took place in the Pullman Hotel on May 20, Trend Life reported.
Youth Speak Forum is an annual event, based on the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) of the United Nations.
Addressing the event, UN Resident Coordinator in Azerbaijan Ghulam Isaczai, Chair of the State Committee for Family, Women and Children Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan Hijran Huseynova, head of EY Azerbaijan HR department Samira Shabanova stressed the importance of the event in further development of the society in order to attract advanced knowledge and technologies, disclosure of creative, entrepreneurial and scientific capacities of youth.
The SDGs are also known as "Transforming our World: the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development" or 2030 Agenda in short. They are also known as the Global Goals for Sustainable Development. The goals were developed to replace the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) which ended in 2015.
These goals are planned to be achieved from 2015 to 2030. The final document "Transformation of our World: An Agenda for Sustainable Development for the period until 2030" contains 17 global goals and 169 related tasks.
President of AIESEC in Azerbaijan Amina Melikova and project manager of the conference Elmira Allahverdiyeva expressed gratitude to all the delegates and wished them successful work.
The forum continued with interactive seminars on the three main YouthSpeak LRC's 2018: "Gender equality", "Decent work and economic growth", "Industrialization, innovation and infrastructure".
Youth Speak Forum 2018 discussed the following topics: the founder of Best Solutions Jana Krimpe - "The role of business and government in the creation and support of digital citizens and an innovative ecosystem in Azerbaijan," Azersun Holding's talent and development manager Elchin Azimli - "Emotional Intelligence as a Tool for Career Development", Managing Director Business incubation center of Youth Inc. Alekper Mustafayev-"How to think up innovative start-ups", gender equality expert of the Women's Association For Rational Development and teacher at Baku State University Zumrud Jalilova-"Gender Equality in Modern Society", founder of TalentPort Nazanin Javadova - "Open Employment Opportunities", Head of Legal Department of the State Committee for Family, Women and Children Affairs of Azerbaijan Talia Ibragimova - "Gender Equality as the Basis of a Prosperous Family".
The forum delegates also participated in the competition, where they worked on creating their own social projects and presented them to the audience. The winning team awarded a six-week internship abroad from AIESEC in Azerbaijan.
AIESEC in Azerbaijan expresses gratitude to the Ministry of Youth and Sport of Azerbaijan, the High-Tech Park and partners of the event.
