Azerbaijan Culture Center hosts event dedicated to Leo Tolstoy
A ceremony dedicated to the famous Russian novelist Leo Tolstoy
was held at the Azerbaijan Culture Center in Paris, Azertag state
news agency reported.
The event was organized by "Leo Tolstoy`s Friends" Society
established by Leo Tolstoy`s grandchild Serj Tolstoy in France in
1977.
The ceremony devoted to the writer`s life and activities and 150th
anniversary of his marriage with Sophia Bers.
Attending the event Ambassador Elchin Amirbeyov spoke about the
creative activities of Leo Tolstoy and said that writer`s "War and
Peace", "Anna Karenina" and other works were part of world cultural
heritage.
Head of "Leo Tolstoy`s Friends" Society, great-granddaughter,
Countess Colette Tolstoy thanked Azerbaijan leadership and
ambassador for providing a venue to hold the event. The event was
followed by a concert.
