Azerbaijan to get up to 130m euros from European Games, minister says

According to preliminary data, Azerbaijan will receive revenues in the amount of 120-130 million euros from sponsors, sale of tickets and broadcasting rights for the first-ever European Olympic Games in Baku in 2015, Youth and Sports Minister Azad Rahimov said at a press conference in Baku on Tuesday, Trend news agency reported.
He said Azerbaijan has all the broadcasting rights, which it will sell to the European Broadcasting Union. "I believe that this amount will be at least 40-50 million euros," Rahimov said.
The 41st General Assembly of the European Olympic Committee, held in Rome on Saturday, decided to host the first-ever European Games in Baku.
The decision was made as a result of the secret balloting, where of 48 votes, 38 came in favor. Eight votes came against, and two more restrained from voting.
