National cyclist first in Minsk

The 2015 Grand Prix Minsk - international track cycling competition - run in the Belarusian capital on May 19-20.
The riders are competing in the following events: Men Elite: Sprint, Keirin, 1km Time Trial, Scratch, Omnium, Points Race, Madison, Team Sprint, Men Junior: Scratch, Points Race, Women Elite: Sprint, Keirin, 500m Time Trial, Scratch, Omnium, Points Race, Team Sprint, Women Junior: Scratch, Points Race
The starting day of the competition has been very successful for
national riders.
The national team leader, Olga Ismayilova, took first place in the
500-meter race. Overcoming the distance at 34.713 seconds, she
gained 80 points at the rating.
Russian cyclists Yelena Brejneva and Yekaterina Gnidenko took
second and third places respectively.
Another team member, Sergey Omelchenko, who joined the team
after a serious injury came 10th among 28 cyclists, overcoming the
200-meter distance race. Thus, Sergey updated his own record.
On the last day of competition the cyclists will compete in the
keirin race.
The prize money for the competition is 6,190 euro.
