Chinese company to submit fertiliser plant construction project to Kyrgyzstan
China Machinery Engineering Corporation is going to develop and submit to the Kyrgyz government within a month the construction project of a fertilizer plant in Tash-Kumyr, Prime Minister of Kyrgyzstan Jantoro Satybaldyev said at a meeting of Zhogorku Kenesh (Parliament) on May 23, KyrTAG news agency reported.
"Negotiations on the construction of a fertilizer plant in Tash-Kumyr have not progressed beyond the protocol of intentions since1998. Recently, I met with representatives of the Chinese company and they promised to submit the construction project within a month," the Prime Minister said.
Satybaldyev added that the government will carefully study the documentation and in the case of its full compliance with the requirements, will begin active work with investors.
China Machinery Engineering Corporation plans to build a plant for production of nitrogen fertilisers at Tash-Kumyr. The construction of the plant is valued at $350 million and the demand for nitrogen fertilisers in Kyrgyzstan is up to 300,000 tons per year.
