Kazakhstan, Turkmenistan link fiber-optic telecom networks
Kazakhtelecom and Turkmentelecom companies have completed
construction and linking the fiber-optic telecommunications
networks between the two countries, Kazakh company reported.
The Presidents of the two countries took part in the docking
ceremony.
The new section of the telecommunications networks between Bekdash
(Turkmenistan) and Temirbaba (Kazakhstan) will connect
Kazakhtelecom's network with Turkmen, Afghan and Iranian networks
and create the possibility for traffic transit to Russia, Europe
and Southeast Asian countries for Turkmenistan.
According to Kazakhtelecom's Chairman of the Board Kuanyshbek
Esekeev, Kazakhstan's location in the center of the Eurasian
continent creates good opportunities for providing transit services
to foreign operators.
"In order to use the transit potential, we have connected our
network with the leading operators in all the bordering countries,"
he said.
