Top Georgian official to speak at Council of Europe ministerial

Georgian Foreign Minister Maia Panjikidze will deliver speech at a ministerial meeting of the Council of Europe on May 16.

Georgian First Deputy Foreign Minister Davit Zalkaliani told the media on May 13 that in her report, along with the issues relating to the occupation of some Georgian territories, Panjikidze will discuss the need to continue the practice of consolidated reports from the Secretary General, as well as the importance of keeping Georgia's issue on the CE political agenda.

Zalkaliani said that despite the issue of the conflict in Georgia, it was not included in the agenda of the ministerial meeting and this is not the first time.

He said Panjikidze will meet with CE Secretary General Thorbjorn Jagland during her visit to Strasbourg.
