Iran strengthens its navy with 300-km rage cruises

Iranian Deputy Defense Minister, Brigadier General Mehdi Farahi, who serves at time as director of the Iranian air and space industries told Fars news agency that IRGC's floats is planned to be equipped with 300-km range progressive cruises.

He said that this kind of cruise has been developed comparing to previous 300-km range ones in precision.

Farahi said that various types in cruisers including surface-to-surface and sea ones are vital to defend any potential threat and increase the war might.

"Some changes have been carried out over previous cruiser types to improve their capabilities and ranges and the new vessel is the result of these efforts," he said.

Iran has produced several types of cruises including Zafar, Nasr, Noor and Ghader. Some of them can be fired over targets at 30 knots. A knot is a unit of speed equal to 1.852 km per hour.

Iranian Defense Minister, Brigadier General Ahmad Vahidi said on April 17 that Iran will unveil indigenous ballistic and cruise missiles as well as other new military achievements by the next five months.
