Georgian's Saakashvili vetoes two laws

Georgian President Mikheil Saakashvili has vetoed two bills passed by the Parliament of Georgia, new head of the presidential administration Andro Barnov said on Tuesday at a special briefing.

The first of them is the law "General courts", which does not take into account comments of the Venice Commission of the Council of Justice. A new amendment to the law provides for the immediate termination of powers of members of the Council of Justice, which is unacceptable for the president.

The second is the law "On the jury", which amended by Parliament, provides for the right to choose a jury by a prosecutor. The President thinks that the right to choose trial by jury should remain by the defendant.

It should be noted that the Parliament has managed to overcome a presidential veto once and this time the representatives of the majority rely to do it.
