Iranian FM invited to attend conference on Afghanistan due in Almaty

Kazakhstan's Foreign Minister Yerlan Idrisov held bilateral talks with his Iranian counterpart Ali Akbar Salehi within the Eleventh Meeting of Foreign Ministers of the "Cooperation Dialogue in Asia" member countries in Dushanbe on Friday.

The Kazakh minister invited his Iranian counterpart to take part in the Conference of Istanbul Process on Afghanistan to be held in Almaty on April 25-26.

"It is a very important event in the region," Idrisov said.

"Kazakhstan will do its best for stabilization of the situation in Afghanistan and normalization of the international community's relations with Iran. According to our vision, Iran and Afghanistan should become an area of peace and opportunities for all," Idrisov said.

During the meeting, Idrisov also reminded that next round of "P5+1" group on the Iranian nuclear program will be held in Almaty on April 5-6.
