Russian TV channels back in Georgia

Georgia's cable television Channel 7 has returned Russian channels
to its TV packages. Six Russian TV channels were included in the
broadcaster's programs again.
The package is available for 4 lari ($2.40) a month.
Other cable providers based in Tbilisi have also announced their intention to restart airing Russian television channels, Russian newspaper Vzglad reported.
Disconnection of the Russian channels was initiated by Georgia's special envoy for conflict resolution Temur Yakobashvili during the 2008 war. Thereafter, Georgians frequently installed satellite dishes to watch Russian television channels.
The decision to return Russian TV channels to Georgian airwaves was made on November 1.
Watching the Russian NTV, ORT, and RTR channels was possible
only through satellite dishes in Georgia. But it was quite
expensive and unaffordable for all customers to pay $100 a
month.
