A decision to export products of Kazakh manufacturers for a total of $5.3 million was made following the business forum "Kazakhstan-China" held in China’s Urumchi on November 10, the press service of the national company KAZAKH INVEST reported.

Thirteen Kazakhstani manufacturers and about 100 Chinese potential buyers took part in the business forum.

The Kazakh delegation included manufacturers of cars, fiberglass pipes, mineral fertilizers, fat and oil products, alcoholic and nonalcoholic beverages, dry mare's milk, bread products and apples.

“As a whole, the results of the event included export contracts worth $5.3 million,” KAZAKH INVEST said in a statement.

Director of the KAZAKH INVEST department Kudiyarov Nurlan noted that 2017 was a breakthrough in the development of cooperation between the two countries in the agricultural sector.

“Thanks to the work of the Governments of Kazakhstan and China, the issues of supplies of Kazakh products are gradually being resolved. We are ready to assist all interested domestic producers in finding potential partners in China, in particular in Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous Region (XUAR), as this is the main nearby market for Kazakh products,” he said.

To date, this is already the seventh similar event held in Urumchi. As a result of past trade missions, contracts worth more than $70 million were signed.

The foreign trade turnover between Kazakhstan and China in the first eight months of 2017 increased by 31 percent and amounted to $6.5 billion. Kazakhstan’s exports amounted to $3.5 billion showing an increase of 28 percent, while imports grew by 36 percent and equaled to $3 billion.
